Flickr has a great new layout, it's a really subtle change... but amazing nevertheless! And now they have a larger 640px default size, which means larger pics on this blog~!

So what kind of editing was done to this image?
ReplyDeleteI do an unsharp mask, then usually smooth skin, but in this case... i wanted to keep the skin natural (left even some problem spots in).
ReplyDeletethe simplest way to do this is to create 2 layers of the original image. use curves or levels to increase the blacks on the top layer (make it darker), and then erase the area around her face in the top layer to reveal her face. Then make the bottom layer brighter / more contrasty accordingly... to make it look good. hope that helps
